Propagation / Grower Assistant
Overview
At Prairie Flora Greenhouse we specialize in growing plants indigenous to Manitoba for home landscapes and restorations. These include wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs. We also provide a selection of heirloom vegetables, herbs, and annual flowers for the home gardener. All indigenous plants are grown from local Manitoba-collected seed, using all natural fertilizers and pest management. We are working to eliminate the use of both peat and plastic in our operation.
This is a great opportunity to learn identification, propagation, growth and cultural requirements for Manitoba perennials, shrubs, and more. Students will be exposed to innovative solutions for small scale organic plant production such as integrated pest management, organic soil creation, and waste reduction.
