Overview

Prepare for college with our English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program!

EAP is multi-level class for IELTS levels 5.0-6.5, which offers you English language training to meet English language proficiency requirements. Our EAP classes, taught by TESOL trained instructors, provide training across all language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. In EAP you will also learn skills for academic success and develop an orientation to Canadian culture.

See Careers & Connections for more information this pathway program.

Admissions

English is the language of instruction at Assiniboine. All applicants educated outside of Canada or in a country not on the test exempt list are expected to meet the English language proficiency requirement.

Minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent is acceptable for this program. See assiniboine.net/elp for more information.

Depending on your starting level, you may need to enrol in more than one term to achieve an IELTS score of 6.5, which is the admission requirement for most of our academic programs.
