Administrative Assistant

Overview

Looking for an office assistant to do various tasks at our office in Boissevain. The Recorder is a community newspaper and stationery retail store.

Job duties would include reception, sales, assisting customers, manage POS retail inventory, typing and editing, proofreading, manage subscription base, and assist with the production of the newspaper and other publications.

Knowledge, experience, or a keen interest of working in graphic design for print and digital would offer further job opportunity. Possible options could include updating websites, creating print and web advertisements, designing brochures and other marketing material for print and digital, preparing files for print, plus assist with the newspaper’s pagination each week. Knowledge or experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator in a Mac Environment an asset, and or working with in web management programs.

Qualifications

- Must have excellent typing skills, computer and clerical skills
- Be extremely detailed-oriented
- Have exceptional organizational skills and great communication skills.
- Some bookkeeping knowledge definitely an asset.
- Interest in graphic design an asset

Credentials
- High School Diploma or College Student
- Interest in Office administration
- A high degree of computer literacy

This would be one full time position, but would consider part time option, based on interest and qualifications. Please indicate in application if interested in full time or part time. Job start date can be negotiated to accommodate college course completion.
