THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Service Manager, Agricultural/Heavy Duty Service Technicians must enjoy being independent, self-motivated, and have a desire to provide quality customer service in a professional and profitable fashion. Working with the parts and sales departments, the Technicians will also assist with the sales of parts and/or service and maintain work areas, equipment, and tools.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide friendly, professional, knowledgeable customer service
Assemble and inspect equipment. Diagnose issues; make recommendations as to course of action and repair/recondition as needed, keeping detailed records of time spent and action taken on each job.
Maintain and care for all shop areas, equipment, vehicles and tools.
Work with Parts department to communicate and/or anticipate need.
Ensure training/education is updated regularly to ensure technical / product knowledge is current.
Routinely promote preventative maintenance service advice
Awareness of company Health and Safety guidelines and actively support and promote safety initiatives in the location
Arrive at work with a clean, professional appearance each day
Perform quality service as efficiently as possible and promote healthy customer relationships
Produce accurate, succinct records of work performed.
Maintain a clean, safe environment in the shop and vehicles, communicating issues as they are identified. Pose solutions to problem areas
Qualifications
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Demonstrated high level of mechanical /technical competence as a Heavy Duty or Agricultural Equipment Technician, Red Seal Certification preferred
Pursuing Red Seal Certification through apprenticeship a combination of 3 or more years of work experience and industry courses in heavy equipment repair is required
Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
Good written and oral communication skills – able to read and comprehend English technical manuals
Good organization and time management skills
Basic – medium computer literacy; please reference your computer skills
Physical ability to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds and to maneuver in/through/around equipment easily and safely
Ability to work indoors/outdoors, with tolerance to fumes or odors
Fork-lift operations safety certificate preferred
