Agronomy Assistant
Overview
McDougald Ag Ventures is an independent agronomy company located one hour west of Winnipeg near
Holland, MB. We specialize in full-service field scouting and SWAT MAPS variable rate fertility & seed.
Our goal is to provide solid agronomic advice to our customer's by recording observations and making
recommendations so action can be taken to maximize the profitability for each client.
McDougald Ag Ventures is now accepting applications for Summer Agronomy Assistant. This position
will work in conjunction with an experienced Agronomist to convey key information from the field. Our
service offering to our customers is in Holland, Treherne, MacGregor, Westbourne, and Gladstone areas
- Inspect farmer's fields and record crop staging, weeds, herbicide timing/efficacy, insects, and
diseases.
- Clearly communicate observations to the Agronomist.
- Play an important role in field scouting services offered to help farmers make timely, informed,
and economical field decisions
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, including ATV's
Qualifications
- Currently working towards a degree or Diploma in agriculture or related field
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time under all weather
conditions
- Exceptional interpersonal and organization skills, ability to complete work targets with little or
no supervision in a timely manner, self-motivated
- A valid Class 5 driver's license
- Agriculture background is considered an asset but not required
