Apprentice Carpenter

Overview

Concord Projects is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to work at various commercial construction project sites to complete rough carpentry tasks and assist the Construction Supervisor in maintaining the company’s quality standards.

The Job

The Apprentice Carpenter works closely with the Construction Supervisor to build or repair structures and components on our project sites. Some of the typical tasks of the job include:

Read shop drawings, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
Prepare layouts that comply with building codes and safety regulations.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
Build and install backings, roof parapets, safety railings, concrete forms.
Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware.

Qualifications

Our ideal person has the following key characteristics, skills and experience:

Driven and excited about working in the construction industry.
Safety focused and cares about creating a safe job site.
Detail-oriented and constantly thinking about the best way to do the work that will result in a superior finished product.
At least two years of experience on commercial construction projects.
Ability to read blueprints.
Some understanding of local building codes, safety requirements and procedures.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
