Breeding Operations Co-op

Overview

Bayer Canada - Crop Science Division is seeking a Co-op student to work for the breeding organization. The individual will assist in growthroom related operations which is part of a comprehensive Canola Breeding processes. This is a unique opportunity to work with leading edge technology and talented research and operations team seeking to deliver the best products in Bayer’s canola pipeline.

The successful candidate will be hired by Bayer through campus Co-op student program. This role is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the One Research Road location. This is a position with a 4 or 8 month term starting from January and/or May 2022 till August 2022.

Qualifications

• Currently registered as a full time student in university or college in a Degreed or Diploma program in Agricultural/Biological Science/Bio-engineering or related field.
• Ability to manage physical nature of watering, plant care, growthroom maintenance
• Willingness to work in varied weather conditions (cool or hot)
• Willingness to work on repetitive tasks
• Possess strong ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary/multicultural research team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sharepoint
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
