Our client, Shared Health, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer, who will drive the successful transformation of the Shared Health organization and service delivery model to a patient-centred, accessible, outcome-focused, fiscally responsible and integrated system, providing great clinical and preventative health services across Manitoba. The Chief Executive Officer will create and sustain a high-performance organization supported by an enabling culture of high quality, patient focused care, systems thinking, inclusiveness, strong fiscal management, accountability for results and continuous innovation.

The ideal candidate will bring to this role a proven track record as a strategic and systems thinker who has successfully challenged the status quo and driven transformation, integration and innovation in complex, multi-service, specialized, geographically disbursed operations. This will be supported by an advanced degree in business, health administration or a related field coupled with a minimum of 15 years experience at the executive level in large, complex organizations and with full responsibility for financial, human resource and operational performance. A solid understanding of health care policy, programming, performance and funding accountability models as well as experience operating an integrated health and shared services organization at a provincial level, would be an asset.

The next CEO will have demonstrated experience creating the conditions to develop, unify and integrate cultures that support innovation, accountability and a citizen/ customer focus and of implementing progressive change management strategies. An influencer, networker and risk-taker, the ideal candidate will bring an exceptional ability to lead and mentor senior leaders and inspire, coach, evaluate, share knowledge and engage staff and stakeholders. Extensive experience working with and supporting a Board or governing body is important.

Candidates will have to demonstrate through examples, the desired competencies of integrity and resilience, visionary leadership, superior oral, written and presentation communication and influencing skills, excellent judgment and decisiveness, results orientation and political and business acumen.
