Premium: Night Shift Premium
Shift: 12 hour shifts 8am – 8pm & 8pm – 8am, 28-day rotation
Work Type: Full Time, Unionized, Onsite

Position Summary:
The Red Seal Electrician is responsible for the care, maintenance and continued operability of the facility and all associated equipment in accordance with quality specifications, federal guidelines and company policies. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities at McCain Carberry plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electrical and technical inspection / repair of processing, packaging and building systems within our manufacturing environment.
Installation of electrical and technical components
Troubleshoot electrical, technical, PLC, and SCADA systems
Provide assistance and support to maintenance and production departments.
Keep Supervisor aware of any operational issues, plans to rectify and equipment needs
Have a working knowledge of all processing, and packaging equipment within our manufacturing environment
Provide mentoring for electrical and technical teams including apprenticeship program support
Will train and lead all employees in the areas of safety, environmental, GMP’s, and sanitation procedures
Must be a safe leader, and be able to coach other in all aspects of safe work
Ensure timely, accurate records are maintained (electrical logbook), SAP, calibration records
Follow good manufacturing practices and PPE requirements
Apply all aspects of lean manufacturing: including 5S, standard work, S.O.P, B.O.P, JHA’s
Assist in driving continuous improvement in all areas of the factory as related to electrical services
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Manitoba Electricians License (HI or HC)
Must hold a valid Inter-Provincial Journeyman Electrician Certificate (Red Seal)
3 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment; food processing would be considered an asset
Candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude and electrical abilities
Must be a team player, willing to participate with excellent communication skills
Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with a keen sense of urgency
Ability to read and follow blueprints and electrical schematics
Previously experiences that might be an asset in this role include the following titles: Industrial Electrician, Instrumentation Technician, Journeyman Electrician
