EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ADVISOR

What is an Associate Relations Advisor?

As an integral member of the People Department, the Employee Relations Advisor is responsible to provide support to key players within the organization on performance management, employment law, and termination matters.

What will you be doing?

Act as the main resource and contact for all Employment Standards Act legislation, interpretation, and proper administration inquiries for all provinces
Act as the main resource and contact for Associates to discuss work related concerns, termination follow-ups, new hire questions, health benefits inquiries, or any other work-related topic that they wish to discuss
Obtain, summarize and extrapolate data required for company acquisitions, along with completing all documentation to ensure legal compliance, as it relates to Associates
Interact with legal counsel to ensure compliance with all provincial Employment Standards Acts on company acquisitions, Club changes, and special disciplinary and termination cases
Produce disciplinary and termination documentation for Associate performance management
Design and facilitate seminars and conference calls for all levels of management on various Human Resource and employment law topics such as the Employment Standards Act, the importance of enforceable contracts, performance management and terminations
Responsible for conducting various presentations related to Associate Relations presenting for various levels of management

Qualifications

University or College Education in the Human Resources field
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards completion an asset
1-2 years in the Human Resource field – Employee Relations a strong asset
Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize
Proactive with strong initiative and solid judgment
Superior communication, listening and interpersonal skills
Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
Labour Relations experience is a requirement
Proven success in coaching on performance management and terminations
