Tundra is seeking a Facilities & Construction Summer Student for 4 months (beginning of May until end of August) based out of the Virden area.

As the Facilities & Construction Summer Student, you will be responsible for assisting the facilities and construction group with outstanding tasks.

Reporting to the Lead Facilities Engineer, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Facilities & Construction Summer Student include, but are not limited to:
• Scoping of pipelines required to tie-in new drills.
• Scoping of pipelines and surface piping required to tie-in new injectors.
• Generating pipeline drawings in Autocad.
• Project creation and setup within the T-drive, Generwell, and Siteview.
• Redlining of drawings pre and post-construction.
• Scoping of surplus equipment for use on new projects.
• Assisting with regulatory submissions for pipeline and facility licensing.
• Completing requests for information from facility and pipeline files.
• Creating, tracking and communicating project schedules.
• Conducting financial analyses of field construction costs.
• Providing project cost justifications and economics.
• Gathering, manipulating and analyzing data regularly.
• Note that regular field visits will be required to complete some of the responsibilities outlined above.
• Other departmental duties as required.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• High School Diploma.
• Must be enrolled in Post Secondary Education and returning to post-secondary education in September 2022.
• Previous experience in the oil and gas industry would be an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude or hands on construction experience would be an asset.
• Autocad experience would be an asset.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals.
