Farm Mechanic/Equipment Operator
Overview
Waterhouse Farms is seeking a full-time farm employee with strong mechanical skills.
We are a family farm operating near Carberry Manitoba. We run Case IH tractors and combines with auto guidance as well as specialty potato equipment, tri-axle trucks and 1 highway tractor. We currently employ 4 full-time employees and there can be up to 25 seasonal employees. We offer a good work/life balance with flexible hours and days off during non-peak times. The wage is negotiable based on experience and existing skills.
Duties
• Maintenance and operation of trucks, tractors, and other farm implements
• Driving large trucks hauling potatoes and grain
• Building and yard maintenance
Qualifications
• Mechanic skills (certification valuable)
• Welding and metal fabrication
• Class 5 driver’s license required (Class 1 valuable)
• Supervision skills and ability to work on a team or as an individual
• Flexibility to work extended hours including weekends during busy seasons
• Skid steer, front end loader, or forklift experience
• Previous farm experience
