Finance Analyst - Brandon Police Service
Overview
The Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting and maintaining the overall controls of the financial management and planning activities of the Brandon Police Service. This position involves a high degree of business interaction and customer contact as well as the need to continually improve the quality of the financial reporting to enhance business insights and make value-adding business decisions.
Qualifications
MANDATORY EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12, G.E.D. , or Mature High School Diploma;
• Graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution with an accounting specialization;
• Two (2) years’ experience working in a professional accounting setting, or similar position in the accounting/financial management field;
• Successful applicant must pass a Police Criminal Record Check and a Police background check.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Municipal accounting experience;
• CPA Designation, or significant completion towards this designation;
• Experience with full cycle accounting;
• Experience with financial administration, budgeting, year-end, analysis, financial reporting, inventory, accounts receivables and payables etc.;
• Five (5) years’ experience working in a similar position in the accounting/financial management field;
• Previous leadership experience is an asset;
