Fleet Mechanic - Winnipeg

The Role:

The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to all new and existing fleet. Job duties also include performing yearly commercial vehicle safety inspections as well as equipment moves and tire repair and installations.

Hours: 5:30am to 2:00pm, Monday - Friday

What you will be doing:
Maintain and repair fleet equipment and perform preventative maintenance
Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary
Respond to road calls
Complete all necessary documents, including vehicle records
Maintain cleanliness in areas of work
Maintain records of daily check list (pre-trip inspections)
Perform all assigned duties in a safe and productive manner
Follow the direction of Fleet Supervisor/Manager

Qualifications

Qualifications:

You have your high school diploma (or equivalent)
Valid Interprovincial certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
Province of Manitoba - Commercial Vehicle Inspectors Certificate
Strong mathematical skills
Must be able to read and write English as there is a possibility of severe injury to self or others due to nature of work
Cost exposure to the company is greater than $1,000
Ability to work shift work (evenings/afternoons/weekends)
Travel to other branches to provide mobile fleet service
Valid Class 1 license preferred, or ability to obtain
Familiar with the safe operation of hand tools.
Team player who shows initiative, reliability and flexibility
Other duties as assigned

Major Physical Demands:
Frequently lifting/carrying a maximum of 60 lbs
Occasionally pushing/pulling/lifting a maximum of 100 lbs. (with the aid of a mechanical device)
Frequent bending and reaching above the shoulder
