Health and Safety Summer Student

Tundra is seeking a Health and Safety Summer Student for 4 months (beginning of May until end of August) based out of the Virden office.
As the Health and Safety Summer Student you will provide technical and administrative support to the Health and Safety department.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Health and Safety Summer Student include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with Hazard ID submissions.
• Assist Field Safety Coordinator’s with Battery Inspections.
• Conduct and assist with SCBA Posi tests, fit tests, and hearing tests of all Tundra employees.
• Conduct inventory counts for all of Health & Safety’s equipment.
• Research safety content for the department’s various annual projects on the go.
• Inspect and update all supplies within First Aid Kits throughout Tundra’s various field locations.
• Update the Safety Bulletin Boards at Tundra’s various locations.
• Inspect and update supplies within Tundra’s Emergency Response Plan Trailer.
• Update the Health & Safety Orientation Video and New Employee Packages.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• High School Diploma.
• Must be enrolled in Post Secondary Education and returning to post-secondary education in September 2022.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite are required.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Excellent judgment and safety conscience
• Energetic, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to be flexible and multiplex by quickly adapting to changing requirements, special assignments, and workload prioritization
• Collaboration and teamwork required, utilizing communication techniques
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
• Adhere to the safety accountabilities as per Tundra’s Safety Policies.
Note: This position does require H2S Alive and First Aid/CPR Training. This training will be provided by Tundra Oil & Gas.
