Health Promotion Manager (Extended)

As a Health Promotion Manager with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will lead the local Health Promotion team, and oversee the delivery of evidence-based workshops in Nutrition, Injury Prevention, Social Wellness, Addictions Awareness, and Respect in the Workplace. In addition, you will collaborate with partners to influence policies, and enhance the built environment to help support healthy behaviours and optimize operational performance. You’ll interact directly with the military chain of command to better understand their concerns and develop an activity plan to address their needs.

This position is Permanent Full-Time and offers 75 hours Bi-weekly. CFMWS is committed to the health, safety and well-being of our employees and their families and offers a competitive total rewards package including salary, benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Health Promotion, Nursing, Mental Health/Social Work, Nutrition, Human Kinetics or
a related field AND some years of experience in the delivery of community health or health promotion
and prevention programs
OR
· Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Nursing, Mental Health/Social Work, Nutrition, Human Kinetics
or a related field AND several years of experience in community health or health promotion and
prevention programs
· Experience needed:
• In planning, managing, controlling and evaluating the operations and delivery of health
promotion programs
• In group facilitation and team-building with adults
• In establishing, sustaining and fostering a network of professional contacts
• In preparing and delivering multi-media social marketing campaigns
• In collecting, analyzing and reporting data electronically
• In the delivery of adult based learning and facilitation of workshops
• In report writing
• In project management
• In budget administration
• In personnel administration
• In advising, developing, applying and maintaining policies, procedures, and regulations
• In using software for multi-media communication and shared web interfaces
· Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership (our shared
competencies)
