Heavy Duty Trailer & Reefer Mechanic
Overview
Maxim is currently seeking a HEAVY DUTY TRAILER AND REEFER TECHNICIAN for our Brandon location. The successful candidate will have experience with refrigerated compartments in trailers, and will be able to work on both automotive and heavy duty vehicles. This is a great opportunity to work with a dedicated team of service professionals to diagnose, repair and carry out maintenance on gasoline and diesel engines and other transportation equipment. Hours: 3 week rotation with Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (depending on shop requirements) on weeks 1 and 2. Week 3 includes Tuesday to Saturday.

Responsibilities:
Complete thorough and quality diagnostic, service and repair of automotive and heavy duty vehicles
Identify potential and future problems
Make recommendations on repairs or replacement parts
Update the Service Manager on completion time changes
Road test the unit to ensure quality of work completed
Document repairs, parts, or problems encountered during repair process on repair order
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Red Seal Automotive Journeyperson with Truck Transport, Agriculture or heavy duty certification
Equivalent working experience in the automotive and heavy duty trade will also be considered
3 or more years’ experience working with reefers is required
Experience with Navistar, Duramax, Cummins, Eaton and Allison a strong asset
Valid Class 3 or Class 1 with Air Driver's License an asset
Team player with strong commitment to the customer
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills and ability to learn in-house programs
Can lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
Familiar with the tools of the trade and personally equipped with adequate supply of hand tools
