Job Coach - Support Worker

West-Can HR Solutions is Currently Recruiting for a part time Job Coach position for an Employer in Brandon, Manitoba.

Position Summary:
Spend your time supporting a social and friendly young woman as she provides smiles to the community. Be an integral part of her life as you build a lifelong friendship while supporting her.

Main Responsibilities:
• Advocate and support a young woman who has Down Syndrome, and Type 1 diabetes
• Ensure the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs are being met of the supported woman.
• Support the medical needs and take specified training
• Develop and facilitate positive relationships with the supported woman, her family and the people she works with.
• Provide transportation to work, the gym and other destinations
• Become knowledgeable of the supported woman’s skills, abilities, interests, and care levels

Qualifications:
• Must be receptive to working with a young lady who has down syndrome and type 1 diabetes.
• Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance
• Must have a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
• Must have a clear Child and Adult abuse registry check
• Must have valid First Aid/CPR certification
• Must have cell phone with data plan
• Must be willing to attend diabetes in-service as well as other relevant in-services.
