Labourer/Equipment Operator
Overview
Are you looking to join a diversely skilled & talented team in a company that offers on-the-job training and opportunities for promotion as your skills develop? We are currently looking to add a new FULL-TIME Permanent Labourer/Equipment Operator to our Winnipeg Bulk Yard Operations.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Operational demands require occasional weekend and/or after shift overtime.
Position Details:
• Open gates of trailing equipment during product unloading
• Assist driver & Equipment Operator to ensure safe unloading/tipping of product
• Assist Drivers to prepare trailing equipment with inserting & removing of poly liner in trailing equipment
• Support Equipment Operator during safe movement of rail cars as part of ground crew and preparing railcars for loading and unloading i.e. unlatching lids, secure lids, etc.
• Assist Maintenance Mechanic while performing repairs & maintenance
• Assist when needed with: snow clearing, shunting railcars, loading salt (training on heavy equipment will be provided)
• Work as part of a small team to perform a variety of yard duties as required
ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.

Qualifications
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
• Safety-first approach
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work (no public transportation available)
• Good physical condition (able to lift 50lbs) and able to work in all weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and ability to attend shifts regularly and on time
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Willingness to work overtime when needed
• Must be able to wear a respirator (clean shaven) when necessary
• Forklift, Loader and/or Rail Car Mover experience is an asset
• As this is a safety-sensitive position, candidates will be required to comply with our Controlled Substances policy (pre-employment/post-incident drug test is required)
