Position Summary:

The Licensed Millwright Mechanic is responsible for the care, maintenance and continued operability of the facility and all associated equipment in accordance with quality specifications, federal guidelines and company policies. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities at McCain Carberry plant.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and engineering and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and/or install, troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems

Use various hand and power tools along with welding equipment

Troubleshooting, inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions

Identify and improve safety, and reliability in a manufacturing environment

Train and lead all employees in the areas of safety, environmental, GMP’s, and sanitation procedures

Ensure timely, accurate records are maintained

Follow good manufacturing practices

Demonstrate lean manufacturing techniques including 5S, standard work, S.O.P, B.O.P, JHA’s

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Inter-Provincial Journeyman Industrial Mechanic Millwright license (Red Seal)

3 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment; food processing would be considered an asset

Candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude and electrical abilities

Must be a team player, willing to participate with excellent communication skills

Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with a keen sense of urgency

Ability to read and follow blueprints and electrical schematics

Previous experiences that might be an asset in this role include the following titles: Industrial Mechanic, Manufacturing Mechanic, Maintenance Technician
