OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH COORDINATOR / NURSE
Overview
The Opportunity:
The Occupational Health Coordinator/Nurse works closely with Managers, Supervisors and individual employees to promote occupational health, safety and environmental compliance in the plant.
Coordinates training, communications, involvement and accountability – supporting accident prevention and compliance programs. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with all health and safety, food safety and HACCP regulations and procedures
A SNAP SHOT OF SOME OF THE EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:
• Provide on-site direct health care to the employees.
• Treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses.
• Educating employees about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• WCB, STD, and LTD claims management.
• Participates in the Occupational Health maintenance program through various activities.
• Participate in programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu clinics, first aid and CPR training.
• Teaching and encouraging employees to practice healthy lifestyles.
• Promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
• Referrals to employee assistance providers as necessary.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
• Trained as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Medical Technician or First Responder.
• Experience in WCB claims management an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior written communication and reporting skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a unionized setting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills.
• Able to thrive in a Company committed to high standards of safety.
