Programs and Events Leader - Town of Virden

Overview

The program and Events Leader (Day Camp leader) position starting on may 16th, will be primarily responsible for the coordination of the planning, implementation, operation and evaluation of the Community Day Camp programs for children ages 6 to 12 with help from the program and event manager.
40 Hours a week
May 16th to July 30th, 2022 will be focused on camp planning.
The day camp will run from July 4th to August 26th

Duties and responsibilities:
-Plan, supervise and participate in program activities
-Foster a safe, cooperative and enjoyable environment for program participants
-Organizing groups and instructing campers
-Delegating tasks
-Assisting with a range of administrative duties
-Encouraging and inspiring campers
-Setting a good example for campers and staff

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications
-Emergency (Basic) First Aid/Level C CPR (must be obtained prior to program start date)
- Successful completion of a Criminal Reference Check and Child Abuse Registry Check including Vulnerable Sector Verification

-Has past experience working with children
-Problem solving
-Ability to act in stressful situations
-Multitasking abilities
-Evidence of sound leadership skills
-Good judgment and a strong moral and ethical code
-Willingness to learn new things
