Recreation Assistant, Adult Day Program
Part Time, Monday-Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. (18-30 hours per week)
Substitute (Casual), Varied Hours
South Branch, 5 Fermor Avenue

Are you passionate about health and wellness? Do you enjoy working with older adults? Our Adult Day Program provides physical, cognitive and social recreation opportunities for seniors in a supportive environment. As a recreation assistant, you will provide motivation, encouragement and assistance to older adults in a variety of programs and activities that helps support their efforts to live an independent and healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications

Are you the right fit?
• Able to develop positive relationships with participants
• Able to develop/deliver programs promoting group interaction, participation,
Individual accomplishments and enjoyment of purposeful activities
• Provide assistance to members with limitations enabling independence, dignity,
Wellness and self-actualization

What else do you need?
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role/field
• Certificate in Recreation for Older Adults and/or a suitable combination of education and experience
• Food Handler’s certificate
• Adult Abuse Registry Check
• Emergency First Aid (can provide in-house)
• Fully immunized against COVID-19 or valid exemption
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a vehicle (preferred)
