Recreation Hub Programmer - Aquatics
Overview
The Recreation Hub Programmer coordinates and implements various aquatic programs and special events. Work activities include program and event scheduling, coordination, staffing, management, staffing and/or volunteer management, prize solicitation, program registration, direct delivery of aquatic programs and evaluations. Coordinate the planning of activities and programs in accordance with community-broad objectives, emphasizing superior internal and external customer service. This position requires flexible hours of work to be present for programs and events, including weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
MANDATORY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma
Ability to hold and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license
Minimum of two (2) years experience at a mid line supervisory level.
Minimum of two (2) years in recreation or a related field.
Current Manitoba Public Health accepted Lifeguarding certification, or expired certification with ability to re-obtain within 3 months.
Current Water Safety Instructor certification, or expired certification with ability to re-obtain within 3 months
Current Standard First Aid & CPR/C, or expired certification with ability to re-obtain within 3 months.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary or equivalent diploma or undergraduate degree in recreation or related field or a combination of experience and education
Previous experience coordinating or supervising volunteers.
Demonstrated experience organizing aquatic programs, as well as small and large-scale community events.
Supervisory experience within a union environment.
Aquatic Leadership Courses including: Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Trainer for Manitoba Public Health accepted Lifeguarding certification.
