Job Summary
This role is responsible for a hands-on approach to the development of new product, prototype fabrication, testing, and production releases. If you enjoy finding solutions and have mechanical ability to work hands-on to develop and improve agricultural products, this position suits you. Infield communication and trouble shooting skills with end users (farmers) and the agriculture sales team is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Strong understanding of seeding equipment
• Fabrication of jigs and fixtures
• Designing and fabricating prototype product
• In-field, 3rd party testing, bench tests with documentation of data
• Troubleshooting product issues with customers
• Ability to interpret drawings; recognizing tolerances, materials, angles, and basic drawing symbols
Qualifications
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following characteristics:
Experience
- An agricultural background with an interest in farming and farming equipment
Education
- Engineering Technology certificate beneficial but not a requirement
Skills
- Ability to weld with strong metal working skills
- Basic knowledge of presses and forming
- A background or experience in tool and die would be an asset
- Experience or basic understanding of technical drawing
- Understanding of CNC, Manual machining equipment would be beneficial
