Overview
The Production Assistant will assist with day to day operations of the cleaning and dehulling plant. As Production Assistant you will be required to operate equipment to clean and dehull fava beans. The Production Assistant will receive and prepare shipments of product, on schedule and according to quality expectations. Adherence to the HACCP program and other food safety programs and certifications is a must. The Production Assistant must have the endurance to work on their feet for long hours and may be required to work overtime during busy seasons.

• Interest in value-added processing
• Effective time-management
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated
• Valid class 5 driver’s license
• Experience in production work
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Familiarity with industry equipment
• Physical stamina required to stand, walk and lift for long periods of time
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Enrolled in post-secondary Agribusiness, Agriculture or related field
