Summer Research Technician, Ag-Quest Inc.

Overview

Students will work with the Ag-Quest team to conduct agricultural research field trials throughout the summer months. Students will work directly with a Research Associate conducting research trials in one of the three areas of research including variety, efficacy or environmental fate. Students will work in a team environment for some research tasks as well as independently for tasks. Students will receive training in a classroom setting or virtually via zoom as well as on-site equipment training and orientation. Students will be required to operate trucks, trailers, and small plot equipment including tractors, seeders, sprayers, mowers, etc. Students will be conducting research activities that are beneficial in advancing the Canadian agricultural industry.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license
• First year to graduating students from all disciplines
• Strong communication skills and detail-oriented
• Ability to work extended hours as required
Assets:
• Pursuing or completed a science-based program
• Any type of previous research or farm experience (include on your application)
• Comfortable working with small plot equipment, including tractor, seeder, sprayer and combine
