Water Management Technician
Overview
The position requires water testing, computer work for watershed planning, shelterbelt maintenance, trail maintenance, educational events and tours, newspaper article writing and assisting with water and soil projects within the district. This position also includes surveying and hauling supplies and materials to job sites.
Qualifications
* Be between 16-29 years of age
* Have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle (mileage to be reimbursed)
* Be able to start work in early May
* Be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
* Experience with operation of quad, various mowers, trimmers and GIS an asset
* Good oral communication skills
* Must meet the requirements as specified under the federal "Canada Summer Jobs" and "Hometown Green Team" Programs
