2024 Indigenous Internship - Manitoba

Overview

For over 10 years, our Summer Internship has given a head start to Indigenous post secondary students across Canada, who are now thriving as full-time RBC employees providing financial advice to clients in their communities. Open the door to the first of many opportunities at RBC and experience the challenges and rewards of working in the financial services industry.

Students wishing to apply must identify as Aboriginal/Indigenous Status Indian, Non-Status Indian, Inuit or Métis, and be enrolled in a post-secondary program with the plan to pursue a career in banking.

Please note in order to apply for this requisition you need to be enrolled in a post-secondary school with the ability to work 37.5 hours per week, meaning you are not going to school while working with RBC. If you are not currently a student you will not be considered for this posting.

What is the opportunity?

We are offering an exciting opportunity for students starting May 6, 2024 -August 16, 2024 working with Personal and Commercial Banking. Please note if you have a Fall Co-Op following the summer term please indicate in the questionnaire.

Role #1- Banking Advisor Intern (Entry Level Position into Personal Banking)

Role #2- Relationship Manager Intern, Commercial Financial Services (Senior Student Role – MBA Students & Business Commerce Students with a Strong Understanding of Credit)

Qualifications

* Financial acumen; ability to complete financial studies and risk analysis; experience in assembling financing solutions for the needs of clients with different levels of complexity
* Strong sales orientation with a passion for fulfilling on client needs
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
* Entrepreneurial, self-motivated to achieve above average results
* Team player who contributes to team sales plans
* Continuous learner with a deep curiosity about diverse customers and keeps up to date with changes in client needs, procedures and products
* Able to work flexible hours and to meet with contacts, prospects and clients after business hours.
