Accounting Assistant, Ticketing

Overview

True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to join our team.

The Accounting Assistant, Ticketing will administer collection of ticket payments, reconcile ticketing subledger to accounting system, and assist with financial reporting preparation. This primary function will be supplemented with both routine and non-routine Finance & Administration assignments.

What to be excited for in this role:
Reconciliation of daily ticket sales for Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose and create entries in accounting software.
Prepare direct withdrawals & process credit cards for ticket payment plans, manage declined payments, and reconcile bank transactions.
Process internal payments or transfers to pay invoices.
Prepare and distribute invoices for suite holders.
Monitor and follow up on aged receivables in a timely manner.
Process refunds as directed by sales reps.
Assist with the preparation of Winnipeg Jets game reports to submit to the NHL.
Month end journal entries to record suite lease and party suite revenue.
Other assignments/tasks may be assigned, as workload and schedule allow.

Qualifications

What we need from you:
Combination of relevant experience and/or education with emphasis on accounting.
Problem solving skills and commitment to accuracy, detail and prudent financial management.
Proven ability to prioritize competing demands with respective timelines in a diverse and evolving environment.
Superior skills in the use of pc-based tools (accounting software and Microsoft Office suite of products).
Interest & willingness to become part of a Finance & Admin Team seeking to provide superior service to the other functional areas of True North.
