Agronomist
Delta Ag Services (www.deltaag.ca) is hiring a full-time permanent Agronomist to join our expanding operation in Portage la Prairie Manitoba. Delta Ag Services is an independent crop consulting company that works with their clients to review complete crop production systems and develop long term strategies to improve farm profitability, land stewardship and sustainability.

This position has the potential to move into a Lead Agronomist role in the future.
We are looking for a Staff Agronomist who:
- Thrives on problem solving independently and who takes responsibility for providing solutions for clients and for the company
- Understands the clients’ needs and delivers solutions for the clients’ success
- Continuously expands agronomic knowledge and contributes to improving field operations and technology use
- Experience with workloads during the peak agricultural season, and flexibly adapts as priorities change
- Enjoys working within a team and collaborates to enhance efficiency and service quality
- Demonstrates positive leadership to seasonal staff and colleagues, and has excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide sound agronomic support to clients
- Complete detailed crop plans with clients
- Utilize precision agricultural technologies and provide VR prescriptions to clients
- Interpret soil and tissue analysis results with clients
- Provide in-field agronomy to advise clients on weed, insect and disease control options
- Assist clients in identifying specific opportunities for improving crop yield and delivered quality
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Diploma or a Degree in Agriculture with a focus on Plant Science or Soil Science
- Preference will be given to those who have obtained their Certified Crop Adviser designation or are working towards it
- Leadership skills to enable the supervision of summer students or casual workers
- Previous agriculture experience in Western Canada
- Knowledge of and willingness to develop new agronomic techniques
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
