Canadian Forces (CF) Messes retain a functional role as social and dining clubs, and are the center of social life for units, stations bases and ships. They enhance the esprit de corps of units, lighten the load of demanding day-to-day work, give commanders an opportunity to meet socially with their troops, and enable CF members of all ranks to create bonds of friendship and better working relations through an atmosphere of good fellowship
As a Bartender, you provide an excellent customer experience in our Military Messes. During big events to every day moments, you will build a rapport with the military community and get to experience various military traditions. The Bartender will provide a variety of services such as preparing and serving beverages, maintaining inventory of bar stock and ordering supplies and assisting in the set-up and take down of social and military functions. You will operate a Point of Sales system, provide a clean bar area and ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations. This position is Casual offering up to 26.5 hours bi-weekly. We have two positions available. The successful candidates should be available for all types of shifts including Wednesday 08:00-13:00hrs, Friday afternoons and evenings/weekends. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Manitoba (Age 18). Smart Choices Certification will be considered an asset.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma
(OR An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience)
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Province
Must possess a Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification

Experience
In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
In cash handling
Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Oral: Functional

OTHER INFORMATION
- Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg)
- This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
- 2 casual positions available with up to 26.5 hours biweekly. Shifts consist of Wednesday 08:00-13:00hrs, Friday afternoons and evenings/weekends.
- As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening.
