Camp Stephens - Kitchen Staff Member (Spring/Summer Employment)

Overview

Do you love working with children? Want to help provide a high-quality camp experience for every child? Excited about spending your Spring and Summer on an island in beautiful Lake of the Woods? Camp Stephens provides a unique opportunity for everyone. As a key member of the Kitchen Team, the Kitchen Staff Member assists with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean kitchen. This role involves preparing quality meals for campers and staff while supporting kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Leadership

Lead by example, providing support to campers, staff, and the broader camp team for a collaborative work environment.

Operations

Follow safety procedures and food handling standards.
Keep a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Ensure timely meal preparation, meeting quality standards and portion sizes.
Prepare and serve meals, considering dietary needs and preferences.

Administrative Support

Assist with kitchen documentation, including logs and inspections.
Ensure kitchen equipment functions properly and complete incident reports as needed.

What else do you need?

Certificate: Emergency First Aid, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, Food handler Certificate
Y Winnipeg Staff required trainings: Workplace Safety & Health, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Training (AODA), Respectful Workplace, Child Protection
Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check

Note - for successful candidates who do not have all of the above required trainings, the Y Winnipeg is willing to provide.
