Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity to help add experience to your résumé so that you stand out to future employers?

Consider adding a Career | Fit Professional Education Program as well to give yourself a super-charged competitive advantage in the job market.

Open to undergrads at Canadian universities and colleges who are aged 18-25 and identify as Asian (both Canadian citizens and international students), Career | Fit Programs are short, conveniently scheduled online offerings with a business focus that supplement your academic curriculum. They can open doors to your future by developing your practical skills and helping you stand out to employers.

Free to Qualifying Students
These programs are generously supported by RBC's Future Launch initiative, and delivered by York University's Asian Business and Management Program (ABMP).

Featuring a Hands-on Project and Industry Mentor
Work on a realistic current industry project in a team while being mentored by an expert from a Fortune 500 company.

What You'll Get
• A Certificate of Completion of York University
• Insight into the knowledge, skills and capabilities required to be successful in the sector.
• Added Bonus: Students in each program’s winning group also receive a mentor’s letter of recommendation.

Duration
Each program is only six weeks long (12 x two-hour sessions, delivered live, online twice weekly).

Program Topics to Choose From
College students can choose from these two cutting-edge programs which feature a realistic hands-on project led by an experienced senior leader in the field:

Program 1 (May 6 - June 12, 2024)

Money, Our Values & Banking Operations: A Competitive Analysis of RBC & Competitor ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) Reports

Mentor:
Ohita Odu-thomas, Senior Manager, Process Re-engineering (Technology & Operations), RBC

Project:
This project offers students a hands-on opportunity to delve into the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability practices of RBC and its competitors, evaluate these practices, and present their findings to senior leaders, showcasing the importance of sustainable finance.

Outcome:
This real-world experience not only aligns with the increasing demand for financial choices that consider environmental values but also provides a chance for students' ideas to potentially be implemented, highlighting the practical impact of their work.

Program 2 (May 7 - June 13, 2024)

Developing a Digital Transformation and Technology Strategy within Salesforce

Mentor:
Gary Kimmel, Field CTO & Director of Enterprise Architecture (USA), Salesforce

Project:
This project involves students working on a digital transformation strategy for a bank using Salesforce, a leading CRM platform. They will conduct market research, evaluate the bank's current operations, and develop a comprehensive 3-5 year roadmap for enhancing personal banking services through Salesforce.

Outcome:
Benefits to students include gaining practical experience in digital strategy development, understanding CRM technology applications, and contributing to sustainable growth and efficiency improvements in banking.

Qualifications

Programs are free to eligible applicants but space is limited. In order to be considered you must be…
• Currently enrolled in a Canadian university or college as an undergrad
• Between the ages of 18 and 25
• A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or international student who identifies as Asian (South, East, Southeast, Central or West Asia)
