The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Centre Support Coordinator position within our Early Learning and Child Care Department located at 200 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Centre Support Coordinator supports the development and design of cultural resources and coordinates communication and promotional materials within the ELCC Department to enhance the visibility of centre programming. This role ensures goals and objectives are achieved in alignment with prescribed priorities, departmental standards, branding requirements, budgetary guidelines, and work plan activities.
Qualifications
Job Duties/Competencies:
• Support centre program development and growth through social media and other platforms;
• Coordinate promotional aspects for events and campaigns;
• Assist with the research of assigned support program topics;
• Actively participate in team meetings and planning sessions;
• Represent, participate and assist in MMF and ELCC Department programs, meetings, functions and events;
• Attend Red River Métis cultural events and other Red River Métis gatherings as required;
• Meet with team members to understand project goals, target audiences, and guidelines to ensure the design aligns with objectives;
• Utilize design software to produce high-quality graphics for both print and digital formats;
• Design cultural resources, promotional material, brochures, and social media graphics;
• Export and package design files in correct formats for various platforms, ensuring they are ready for print or digital use.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Diploma in Graphic Design, or relevant field; equivalent experience and training may be considered;
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite is required;
• Experience collaborating with multiple clients on diverse projects;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
• Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
