Overview
Our Surrey office is looking to add a skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to our Communities team. As a Civil Engineering Technologist, you will be working with our Municipal and First Nations Communities teams to complete designs from high-level concepts through to detailed design. • Carrying out drafting and design tasks using Civil 3D.
• Supporting project teams with drawing production, construction specifications, and quantity calculations.
• Adhering to client and/or internal production standards.
• Expanding your working knowledge of utility and civil designs.
• Effectively communicating with team members and project leaders.
• Performing quality control and verifying the accuracy of design drawings.
• Assisting with project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Developing your civil engineering skills by working alongside a dedicated team of professionals.
Qualifications
Our preferred candidate is a recent graduate from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design & Drafting Technology program with up to 5 years of work experience. Given the variety of project needs and a desire to find the right person to join our team, we will consider candidates with a range of experience and education and encourage both new graduates and intermediate technologists to apply. The following attributes would be considered beneficial to this role:
• You have a strong foundation in AutoCAD and civil design software including Civil 3D.
• You have a keen interest in working with local municipalities and First Nations communities.
• You can advise your project team on technical problems and troubleshooting.
• You have excellent drafting skills and have a good knowledge of drawing set up and production.
• You are excited about committing to ongoing personal and professional development.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
• You have strong written and oral communication skills for communicating with team members and clients.
• You are a self-starter who can work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
• You are detail-oriented and take pride in producing high quality work.
• You are registered or eligible for certification with ASTTBC or an equivalent Provincial association (preferred).
