Our growing Cranbrook office is looking to add an enthusiastic, highly capable Civil Engineering Technologist to our team of professionals. Life in a growing professional practice is never boring. You will get to grow alongside our interconnected branches and teams of professionals and provide general drafting and design support from preliminary through to detailed design, as well as periodic on-site inspection of various municipal infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia.

• Carrying out design tasks using AutoCAD and Civil 3D with the support of senior designers.
• Communicating effectively with team members and project leaders.
• Preparing quantity and cost estimates.
• Supporting local market field services through performing inspections and site visits during construction.
• Producing highly accurate production drawings to be issued for tender/bid.
• Supporting design, drawing production, and/or construction specifications.
• Ensuring quality control of both design and drafting production work and verifying the accuracy of your production work.
• Performing a variety of defined assignments with guidance from team members.
• Advising the team on technical problems and troubleshooting.
• Promoting and instilling a sense of teamwork among members.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will be a recent graduate from a Civil Engineering Technology diploma program or equivalent with up to five years of experience, who is registered or eligible for certification with ASTTBC or an equivalent Provincial association.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow in their field, is curious about civil infrastructure design, and has a passion for building communities. Given the variety of project needs and a desire to find the right person to join our team, we will consider candidates with a range of experience, education, and backgrounds in municipal infrastructure, land development, and transportation design and implementation.

• You are proficient with AutoCAD and Civil3D and are excited to learn new software.
• You are a self-starter who can work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• You are detailed oriented and take pride in producing high quality work.
• You have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software.
• You are committed to ongoing professional development and career progression.
• You have a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence, access to a personal vehicle, and are able to commute to site visits.
