The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill three full-time Client Services Worker positions within our Michif Manor located at 800 Notre Dame Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The Client Services Worker is responsible for working with all Northern and rural Red River Métis Citizens, facilitating the intake and registration process, and coordinating stays at Michif Manor. Michif Manor operates 24/7 therefore the incumbent can expect to work various shifts.
Qualifications
Job Duties/Competencies:
• Welcome, register, and inform Citizens about Michif Manor;
• Act as the primary contact for Michif Manor, in person, by phone, and/or email;
• Assist Citizens with support needs and special requests as required;
• Receive deliveries and check quantities/quality to ensure they match the shipping waybill provided;
• Ensure readiness of rooms and complete room inspections and communicate deficiencies;
• Perform routine cleaning of guest rooms and common areas including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, linen changes, and other general duties as assigned;
• Maintain a high profile to ensure Citizens are aware a staff member is on duty;
• Respond to general inquires from the public and provide information related to available resources and programs;
• Assist in establishing relationships and networks throughout the community;
• Assist with reviewing, maintaining, and cross-referencing financial records and documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Relevant education in the field of Administrative Assistant or related field(s);
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service setting with direct interaction with customers;
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in administrative support services/hotel front desk operations with excellent communication skills;
• Experience in a computerized office environment with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• First Aid basics with CPR & AED are considered an asset;
• Clear Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Check is required;
• Acceptable Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search is required;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
