Camp Wasaga is a family camp, serving 3 full meals everyday and providing a snack in the evening for upwards of 100 people per day. Meals are cooked from scratch and can accommodate all ages, tastes and most dietary concerns. Balanced wholesome meals are prepared in a full camp kitchen and served buffet style at each meal.

Working alongside the Head Cook and Assistant Cook, the Cook is in charge of the daily kitchen operations for his/her shift and ensuring the campers, staff and volunteers are fed in a healthy, sanitary and timely manner. The Cook is responsible for cooking and prepping, proper cleaning and dishwashing, receiving and organizing orders and serving guests as while practicing safe food handling and cleanliness. The Cook may assist the Head Cook in directing any kitchen volunteers.

Qualifications:

General kitchen knowledge, including knife skills, sanitation and food handling rules

Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record check required

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant

Valid Food Handler’s Certificate
