The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Creative Content Coordinator position within our Early Learning and Child Care Department located at 200 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Creative Content Coordinator supports the development and design of cultural resources, and coordinates the communication and promotional content within the department to increase the visibility of programming and events to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, department standards, branding, budgetary guidelines, and work plan activities.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Competencies:
• Support the department to shape and develop visual communication of cultural programs, events and resources for digital and print;
• Meet with team members to understand project goals, target audiences, and guidelines to ensure the design aligns with objectives;
• Support program and event development and growth through social media and other platforms;
• Coordinate promotional aspects for events and campaigns;
• Utilize design software to produce high-quality graphics for both print and digital formats;
• Design cultural resources, promotional material, brochures, and social media graphics;
• Export and package design files in correct formats for various platforms, ensuring they are ready for print or digital use;
• Assist in fielding social media inquiries regarding programming and events from Citizens;
• Attend Red River Métis cultural events and other Red River Métis gatherings as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Diploma in Graphic Design, or relevant field; equivalent experience and training may be considered;
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite is required;
• Experience collaborating with multiple clients on diverse projects;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
• Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
