Overview

Location: This position is ideally located in Brandon, MB, however other locations will also be considered. There may be an opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement.

Reporting to the Credit Risk Manager, the Credit Expert will act as credit risk adjudicator, reviewing credit applications and assessing key risk factors and adherence to MASC lending policy. The incumbent will also be responsible for delivery of the Loan Guarantee Programs as well as the coordination and administration of the Manitoba Livestock Associations Loan Guarantee Program. This position carries the highest level of loan approval authority and will provide mentorship, coaching and training on credit risk, policy, and procedures to Loan Specialists. The incumbent will ensure the highest quality of loan decision making, credit risk understanding, and adherence to core lending principles to protect and maintain the financial interests of MASC while supporting program objectives.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post secondary education in a related discipline and several years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, may be considered.
• Experience applying credit principles in agriculture/commercial lending.
• Experience analyzing complex personal, corporate, and agricultural financial statements.
• Experience with property appraisals and security valuations.
• Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies, procedures, and contracts.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) in a cloud-based environment.
• Ability to train, coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy, including numerical accuracy.
• Knowledge in agricultural production and farm business management.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in program delivery and administration.
• Experience with debt consolidation and collection processes.
• Knowledge of farm debt mediation processes.
• Bilingual, is considered an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must possess a valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.
