What does our engineering team do?
Our engineering team has delivered thousands of small dams across the country over the last 87 years. So much so that we now own over 6,000 water retaining structures responsible for the creation of over 1.2 million acres of wetland. This makes DUC the largest single dam owner in Canada in terms of sheer numbers.

Our engineering team further supports a variety of nature-based infrastructure projects through the revenue generating branches of DUC, including Native Plant Solutions (www.nativeplantsolutions.ca).

What will you do?
DUC is looking for a confident, energetic and dedicated Engineering Technologist to join our team in Manitoba, primarily supporting the work within Native Plant Solutions.

In this role, you will be an integral player in the design, construction, and commissioning of constructed upland and wetland projects. This role requires practical experience with water control structures and a strong understanding of heavy civil construction, including earthworks.

Experience in construction management, directing machinery, and supervising hired equipment would be an asset. The ideal candidate will also have practical experience in CAD design and GPS surveying in combination with a keen interest in collaborating across disciplines, including biologists, agronomists, and ecologists.

You will also support the engineering team with planning, construction procurement, cost estimation, and design – activities that appeal to you because you love a balance of office work and field work. You will have the opportunity to travel to remote field sites for construction or to assist with inspections of small dams and water control structures as part of DUCs broader mandate.
