Manitoba Hydro is recruiting candidates for a career in Telecommunications with employment to commence May 2024.
Those who currently meet the qualifications, or those who will be graduating with the required qualifications by April 2024 are invited to apply.

Upon completion of a two-year training program that involves field experience and advanced theoretical and practical courses, you will install, maintain, and repair advanced telecommunication and control systems. Successful applicants are required to work and may be stationed at various locations throughout the province.

Qualifications

A diploma from an accredited Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Communications Engineering Technology program or equivalent certification as an Engineering Technologist with the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM)
Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence (intermediate or full) or equivalent.
Capable of interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams.
High degree of mechanical ability.
Aptitude for technical skills involving computer and electronic equipment.
Accurate colour perception.
Physically capable of performing all the duties of the position.
Willing to relocate to various locations within Manitoba.

Salary Range

The range for the classification Telecontrol Trainee is $27.40-$30.90 Hourly, $52,509.34-$59,204.08 Annually. Following successful completion of the training program, the journeyperson range for the classification is $38.25-$45.59 Hourly, $73,296.34-$87,363.12 Annually.
