The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Facility Manager position within our Michif Manor located at 800 Notre Dame Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance, cleanliness, security, and safety of all infrastructure and equipment at Michif Manor. The Facility Manager plans, executes, and manages maintenance operations in accordance with the directives as set forth by the General Manager. Michif Manor operates 24/7 therefore the incumbent can expect to work various shifts.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Competencies:

• Oversee the maintenance, security, and repair of Michif Manor;
• Ensure the facility complies with health, safety standards and environmental regulations;
• Manage utility services such as water, electricity, natural gas, and water disposal to ensure efficient operations;
• Monitor, schedule, document, and perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and facility;
• Oversee pest control measures to protect the facility and equipment;
• Conduct routine safety inspections addressing hazards and maintaining safety protocols;
• Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing facility best practices and infrastructure procedures;

Skills and Qualifications:

• Post secondary education in Management, Power Engineering, or a related discipline or a combination of suitable education and experience will be considered;
• Security training would be considered an asset;
• Janitorial or custodian training or work experience would be considered an asset;
• First aid basics with CPR and AED would be considered and asset;
• Experience in a management role with a not-for-profit organization or Indigenous community is an asset;
• Experience managing in a dynamic technical environment;
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience interacting with employees, partners, stakeholders, industry members, and customers;
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, time management, and analytical skills;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
