The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Project Coordinator position within our Métis Justice Institute Department located at 200 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Project Coordinator provides Red River Métis Citizens and families of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Family Support Program with culturally safe and trauma-informed resources combined with healing approaches to restore a sense of justice and well-being.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Competencies:
• Develop program intake and registration process for Red River Métis Families in a secure database designed to monitor and track information for monthly reporting;
• Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed resources, and support networks available to families through various communication channels through the development of a Resource Tool Kit;
• Develop and implement community engagement protocols for respectful communication;
• Plan and coordinate the Family Support Program in MMF Regions and communities;
• Foster open and trauma-informed relationships with prospective and registered families;
• Provide referrals for resources to the Infinity Women Secretariat that are outside the scope of the program;
• Engage with outside sources to refer families to gain access to additional supports such as counselling and information regarding the family’s case.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in the social sciences or equivalent experience and training related to justice and community program development;
• Experience in the field of Social Services as a Program Coordinator or relevant position;
• Experience in program development, case management, assessment, and evaluation;
• Previous experience in partnership management including working with Indigenous Government, Provincial and/or Federal Government, and community stakeholders;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
• Acceptable Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
