Fibre Splicing Technician

RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team as a Fibre Splicing Technician. The successful candidates will be involved in our day-to-day operations including the preparation and installation of fibre internet infrastructure maintaining, repairing, connecting separate fibre runs.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Splice and test fibre optic cables in all inside/outside plant applications – buried and underground; both on newly placed cable and existing cables
• Analyze test results and have the ability to troubleshoot and correct any faults or defects
• Interpret and understand placing and splicing work plans
• This position requires that the individual be motivated and self-disciplined, able to work on their own or closely with other team members to optimize efficiency to ensure that the client’s due date(s) are met

Qualifications

Expertise & Requirements:
• Experience as a Fibre Optic Splicer is an asset but will train right candidate
• Ability to interpret placing and splicing plans
• Competency in OTDR and other testing protocol an asset
• Must have a valid Drivers’ License - will require drivers abstract
• Ability to travel to various work sites as workload dictates
• Overtime required in applicable situations in order to meet customer delivery commitments; this could include some night and weekend work
• Work in all weather conditions

This role will give you the opportunity to work out of your home community. You will be provided with a company vehicle and will be assigned work at various locations throughout the region as required.
