This is a great opportunity for university students seeking employment from May to August 2026. We have work in the Winnipeg and Brandon regions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Always represent Genics in a professional manner and report any concerns to the Field Lead Hand.
• Maintain strong business relationships with all clients and stakeholders; respond to customer concerns in a prompt and efficient manner while reporting any issues or incidents to the Field Lead Hand/Supervisor immediately.
• Communicating with landowners professionally as required by Field Lead Hand.
• Preform all work activities that are required for the test and treatment program. This includes shoveling, testing, treating, meshing and managing data. This also includes managing all materials and equipment used daily on the work site.
• Support team’s work quality, quota planning (coordination with Field Manager)
• Take part/support safety tail boards that identify / mitigate hazards that are part of daily work activities.
• Fully understand your daily roles/responsibilities and safety requirements while on the job which include understanding of all hazards, mitigation plan and emergency response plans as per daily job planning
• Fully understand and adhere to Genics safety policies and procedures as well as where to find the appropriate info as needed.
• Willing to work away from home for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to travel frequently to assigned customer sites.
• Assist Lead Hand in managing, maintaining and servicing all tools/equipment/vehicles as required that are used on a daily basis
• drive the company truck, trailer, ATV, UTV, and Argos with care and attention follow Genics safety rules and procedures when required by Lead Hand or Supervisor.
• Assist with diagnosing and fixing minor problems, schedule/coordinate major work as needed and understand/ communicate with other leads on how to properly maintain equipment.
• Maintain records of services performed as needed.
• Adhere to all Genics policies and procedures (Vehicle, safety, correspondence, housekeeping) Vehicles/equip/hotels to be organized and kept clean to ensure proper housekeeping for all individuals working together.
• Support bi-weekly inspection of the truck and equipment is completed.
• May be required to deliver hotshot requests and install equipment on site as needed.
• Upon supervisor’s request, you will be required to work in the shop occasionally
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driver’s abstract are required
• Valid H2S Alive
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR
• Ability to haul a trailer, an asset
• Must have steel-toed work boots CSA/OHMS rated
• Work in various elemental conditions, e.g. rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Lead hand comfortable data electronically on different platforms
• Lead Hand comfortable reading maps and able to navigate to job site from hotels daily
• May be required to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
• Mechanical aptitude, experience with a variety of hand tools.
• ATV/UTV experience preferred (ATV/UTV training is provided)
