Field Testing Summer Associate
Location: Guelph
A day in the life…
As a highly motivated Field Testing Summer Associate you will join our Bayer powered by Impres team for a 4-month summer contract. You will experience the full spectrum of implementing a multi-crop small plot field research program, which will include field selection, site and seed preparation, planting, trial maintenance, data collection and harvest. You will operate a tractor to help with spraying, mowing, tilling & cultivating. You will also assist with trial preparation activities including seed counting, sorting, placement of sample envelopes into planting order and order verification. This position will also provide you with the opportunity to assist with the collection of agronomic data from canola, corn and/or soybean plots throughout the season while following trial stewardship and/or regulatory guidelines and policies, and health & safety initiatives, as per requirements.

Qualifications
What you bring to the table…
• You are a current student pursuing an Associate’s (Diploma), Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree program with a focus in Agriculture or Sciences.
• You have a high level of motivation with the ability to work independently.
• You have strong organization, communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• You have a good understanding of agronomic practices.
• You have the ability to work long hours as required, and have your own transportation to research farm.
• Basic mechanical skills; ability to operate farm machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• You have some farming experience and/or knowledge.
• You possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (required).
• You are willing to obtain Class G endorsement (AB, SK) or Class 3 (MB) or Full G license (ON) - (heavy trailer endorsement).
