Overview
Digital Tech Fusion is seeking a student or emerging illustrator for a small paid freelance client project.
The selected illustrator will create one custom black-and-white line illustration for use as a prominent visual element on a client's personal blog website.
The illustration will centre around an open vintage wooden trunk or old-fashioned storage chest containing recognizable everyday lost-and-found objects, such as an umbrella, books, hat, scarf, gloves or mittens, handbag, eyeglasses, and similar items.
The desired artwork should feel warm, human, thoughtful, inviting, timeless, and slightly whimsical. The client's audience includes older adults, so the illustration should be approachable and easy to understand while still looking polished and contemporary.
The illustration will primarily be used in a wide website hero/header area. The composition should therefore work well in a horizontal format and provide sufficient negative space for use within a responsive website design.
This is a paid freelance/contract opportunity and is particularly suitable for an illustration, graphic design, visual arts, or related student interested in adding a professional client project to their portfolio.
The selected illustrator is expected to begin in early September, with the final approved illustration targeted for completion by September 10, 2026.
Digital Tech Fusion will provide the selected illustrator with a detailed creative brief and will act as the primary point of contact throughout the project.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
• Be currently studying illustration, graphic design, visual arts, communication design, or a related field, or have comparable illustration experience.
• Be comfortable creating clean, professional black-and-white line artwork.
• Be able to work from a written creative brief and incorporate reasonable client feedback.
• Be able to provide completed artwork in appropriate high-resolution and/or vector digital formats.
• Be available to complete the project within approximately one week in early September 2026.
• Provide a portfolio or examples of relevant artwork. Line art, editorial illustration, hand-drawn illustration, or similar examples are particularly helpful.
Professional client experience is not required. Students and emerging artists are strongly encouraged to apply.
The selected illustrator will work as an independent contractor on a project basis. Ownership and usage rights for the commissioned artwork, as well as any applicable portfolio/display rights for the illustrator, will be outlined in a written project agreement before work begins.
