Full-time Manager, Business Development

Overview

Southport is seeking a full-time, permanent, Manager, Business Development. Reporting to the Director, Business Development, the Manager, Business Development is responsible for driving the growth of Southport’s business by identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and developing strategic partnerships. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills to effectively develop and execute business strategies. Key duties and responsibilities of this position are to:

• Develop and implement business development strategies to align with Southport Aerospace’s goals and objectives.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities through market research and industry analysis to identify potential clients, market needs, and industry trends.
• Build and support strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, industry influencers, community members, key decision makers, and Southport Management.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support of business development initiates.
• Support Marketing, Communication and Business Development Plans as part of the Annual Business Plan.
• Develop and manage revenue and performance data to achieve business development strategies.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive business objectives.
• Represent Southport, when required, at industry functions, such as association events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
• Support and oversee the marketing team’s advertising plans, communication channels and public relations events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
• Proven track record of success in business development, sales, marketing, or related field with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-orientated approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
• Sound understanding of social media trends and website development.
• Desire for growth and learning.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
